-Next generation gold-
Recycled gold
To allow the next generation to enjoy jewelery as well, we opt for materials with a better impact on the environment. Aurore's jewelery is therefore mainly made from 18 carat recycled gold. A warm, timeless and strong precious metal.

A golden choice
Gold mining can have quite a devastating impact on the environment. By using recycled materials, we want to contribute to a reduced demand for newly mined metals and we work with our suppliers to give existing precious metals a new life.
The color of gold
Aurore's jewelery is made of 18 carat gold, but what exactly does that mean? Gold in its pure form is 24 karat gold. However, its use is limited, because the pure gold is soft in nature and will therefore damage too quickly during wear. Therefore, other metals, such as palladium and copper, are added to the pure gold and a so-called alloy is created. It is therefore also possible to create gold with a different color. The content of the gold in such an alloy is indicated in carats in 24 parts. So 24 karat is 100% pure gold, 18 karat is 75% gold and 14 karat is 58.5%. In the Netherlands, jewelery is usually made of 14 carat gold. Aurore's jewelry is made of 18 carat gold, a higher gold content with a more luxurious and warmer appearance.

Yellow gold
The natural color of the precious metal and still the most requested gold color in the Netherlands. To make the material stronger and to give it a warm appearance, the alloy contains a small amount of silver and copper in addition to gold. Diamond settings in yellow gold jewelry are often made of white gold, so the diamonds will shine brighter. Of course it is also possible to make a ring entirely in yellow gold.
Yellow and white gold go perfectly together and this is an often seen combination.

White gold
The radiant, cool glow of white gold highlights diamonds perfectly. White gold is therefore widely used for row rings with a lot of diamonds and diamond settings, but is also increasingly in demand for solitaire rings. The alloy consists mainly of gold, with palladium and silver added. To get the bright white look, our rings are finished with a rhodium layer. The disadvantage is that this layer can gradually disappear with wear and a yellow gold glow (original gold color) returns. Rings can always be rhodium plated again.
Rose gold
Also called red gold and especially in recent years a much sought-after gold color. Rose gold has an alloy of gold, copper and silver and is therefore the strongest of the three gold colors. The amount of copper also determines whether the material has a more red or soft pink appearance.
You can combine this gold color nicely with white gold, but less well with yellow gold.

- Take Care -
Take care of your gold jewelry
Gold is a natural material and in order to enjoy it optimally for as long as possible, it is best to take a number of things into account. Chlorine and other strong chemicals can affect your gold jewelry, so be careful. In addition, it is smart to take off your gold jewelry during sports or heavy physical work. Store your jewelry in a jewelry box when not being worn. By handling your jewelry with care, they will shine longer.
