Lab grown diamonds

Real diamond, but mined in a laboratory above the ground instead of deep below the earth's crust. Optically, qualitatively, aesthetically and in terms of (chemical) properties, diamonds from a mine or from a laboratory are exactly the same. The origin does not matter in that respect, but with laboratory diamonds we opt for an ecologically and ethically improved process.

Miracle of...

They are also called 'Man Made Diamonds' and that is exactly the big difference between a lab diamond and a natural diamond; one a marvel of nature, the other a marvel of human intelligence. Physically, chemically and optically, both diamonds are exactly the same. It is impossible to tell the difference between a natural and a lab-grown diamond, with the naked eye, magnifying glass or microscope. However, from an ecological and ethical point of view, the lab diamond has great added value. Together with our partners, we work on creating responsible jewellery.

Just like with natural diamonds, there is a lot of quality difference between different lab diamonds and there are many facets that make them shine. For example, the 4 C's are an important indicator in determining the quality of the diamond. These are tested by recognized geological institutions such as IGI. For our collection we only select high-quality diamonds with a minimum quality of GH/SI. In addition, our diamond jewelery comes with a jewelery certificate as standard and our diamonds contain a special laser inspection on the girdle. This way we can continue to guarantee the quality of our jewellery.

The famous 4 c's

Cut
The 'cut' tells us how the facets in a diamond are cut. An important indicator, because a poorly cut stone shows little life, is dark and does not shine.

Carat
Probably the most famous of the four, but certainly not more important than the other three. The carat number shows us the diamond weight, but for a beautiful diamond, big is certainly not always better.

Clarity
Clarity says something about the clarity of a diamond and the possible presence of inclusions. The number of imperfections, their position and size ultimately determine the degree. In general, the fewer inclusions, the rarer and more precious the diamond.

Colour
The color, or rather the lack of it, is indicated on a scale from D to Z. A white stone D is the most rare.

Unique

Every diamond is a one-of-a-kind specimen, this also applies to lab diamonds.

Formed from a seed, each diamond grows into its own shape, with a unique pattern of natural inclusions.

Real

The number one question we get is
'Are lab diamonds real?'.
The answer to this is simple: YES.

Whether a diamond is formed deep in the earth or in a lab, they are both real. They have exactly the same optical, chemical and physical properties.

Responsible

Our motivation for working with lab diamonds is the ability to avoid the human and environmental toll that diamond mining takes.

With lab diamonds we opt for a sustainable and future-proof raw material.

Diamond selection

The use of lab diamonds in jewelry is relatively new and there is still ignorance among consumers about this. That is why globally recognized geological institutes, such as the IGI, also provide lab diamonds with official certificates of authenticity, just like with natural diamonds.

Our diamonds are also tested on various facets, so that you are assured of a real (lab) diamond that meets high quality requirements.

"Lab-created diamonds are not fakes. They're not cubic zirconias. They have all the same physical and chemical properties of a mined diamond."

- Stephen Morisseau, spokesperson for the Gemological Institute of America, an international nonprofit grading organization for diamonds.

The origin of lab diamond

To create lab diamonds, the conditions of nature are imitated. A carbon seed is exposed to high pressure and temperature, causing it to grow into a diamond in the rough within a few weeks.
After this, this diamond goes through exactly the same steps as a natural diamond and is assessed for quality, cut, certified and processed into a piece of jewellery.
